TZH Announcement Winners v2.jpg

Following the phenomenal success of Remember - Lest We Forget, the sequel, Triple Zero Heroes will be created just like last time, by bringing people together to produce an eclectic collection of images.

'Each page illustrated by someone different, accompanied by my words.

Telling their stories.'

To enter, artists from all over the community created original illustrations about those who serve our community, including members of Ambulance, Police, and Surf Life Saving.

Their art shares special stories, thoughts, and memories about them,

the everyday heroes, and why it is important to remember them too.

The competition was open internationally to people of all ages,

and some artists entered multiple illustrations.

'It has been such a special experience to produce Remember.

It is a beautiful legacy of the Anzacs, with the community coming together to honor those who have worked and still work to give us this amazing life.

It's not just children, parents, and teachers who love Remember, but the reaction from veterans themselves has been absolutely moving. Often bringing tears to their eyes, it has made them feel honored, treasured, and remembered.

I'm looking forward to doing the same for our domestic frontline heroes, and I am so glad to have the opportunity to invite you to join me in this mission.' - J.E. Miller, Author

All of us at Hawkeye have a reverence for words. The ability to

articulate meaningfully can celebrate all that should not be taken for granted,

and our nationwide community needs love now more than ever.

When Miller’s submission came in, we were thrilled to be involved in bringing together the best of the best illustrations with exquisite words to celebrate our nation’s First Responders.’ - Carolyn Martinez, Director, Hawkeye Publishing.

The competition winners were announced on Monday 16th May 2022.

They will be named traditionally published illustrators in Triple Zero Heroes, and will receive a personalised t-shirt and a free copy of the book, signed by the author.

The overall winner, Trelyse Allan, has been chosen to receive a mentorship and a future picture book contract with Hawkeye Publishing.
